Timothy D. Armour is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Capital Group. He is also the Principal Executive Officer (PEO) of Capital Research and Management and Chairman of the Capital Group Companies Management Committee. Among the additional field of expertise, Mr. Armour is also an equity portfolio manager. Mr. Armour attended Middlebury College earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.
Mr. Armour has more than 33 years of investment experience with the Capital Group, beginning his career in the Associates Program. Capital Group has grown into one of the leading investing managing firms in the world today. Mr. Armour climbed the ladder of success at Capital and in 2015 he was named the Chairman of the Capital Group. In his capacity as Chairman Timothy Armour will continue to set, communicate and implement the company business strategies and oversee day to day operations. Mr. Armour had been in the pipeline for the elevation to the position of Chairman, but it was formalized after Jim Rothberg, former Chairman of the company passed away. Customer service has always been the first priority for the Capital Group and the strategies developed for each client are unique for each client and based on needs and goals.

Capital Group established a partnership with Samsung Asset Management (SAM). The partnership will focus on developing investment strategies for retail and institutional retail investors for the Korean market. The focus is on co-developing solutions for retirement and asset allocation products and enhances SAM’s investment capability. SAM will become familiar with the Capital Group style of management and work to provide management know-how in client and business management.
The partnership will pave the way for SAM to enhance its active equity investment capability and jump start life cycle strategies for asset allocation. The overall goal is to co-design investment solutions to create retirement, insurance and savings needs for Korean investors. The partnership between the two entities will include choosing and using the appropriate products developed by Capital Group services and products across multiple distribution channels used by Samsung.
